Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an American screen and stage actress, best recognized for her roles in films as a character in Ray Undercover Brother and on the tv show The Mentalist. She holds a BA in African-American Studies and an MFA from Tisch School of Arts New York University. Aunjanue Ellis is an American actor and producer who is active in the fields of theater, film and television. Her acting career started in the theatre. Later, she was a part of several television shows as well as independent and mainstream films. The actress was famous for her role in the role of Miranda Shaw (ABC's Quantico) as well as on BET's huge The Book of Negroes. Both series received major critical acclaim, but she also took home a variety of prizes. She made her professional acting debut as Ariel as Ariel in The Tempest in 1995. On Broadway, she has appeared on stage in Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Seeking the Genesis and Joe Turner's Come and Gone. In the film industry she is most famous for roles such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express or The Help. For her work on television she's been recognized for her role as a regular character on ABC's police drama High Incident.
