She was born on the 2nd February 1978 in Montevideo , Uruguay. She has a mix of origin, Japanese and Uruguayan heritage. There is a brother and two sisters. Yuyi Mori, her father and Rosario Ochoa, are both her mothers. Her parents divorced when she was age three. Barbara lived a portion of her childhood in Mexico as well as Uruguay. Then she moved to Mexico city. Her modeling career began with a surprising way. Barbara employed as a server when she was fourteen years old. Marcos Toledo spotted her, and asked her to join his team for model. Sergio Mayer, whom she first met when she was just nineteen and is now her husband. The couple never married but has a son.
